Meh

I hate to say it, but I think I will be moving back to Windows. I have really enjoyed LInux except the installing software part, and not being able to Samba with my shared printeer. And, I miss my iTunes. Don't get me wrong AmaroK has great iPod support, just drag and drop, but I had my library organized just right in iTunes. If I had the money, I'd just say screw Windows, and get myselft a MacBook and use my Windows box scrictly for gaming, and maybe a Linux file server. I just don't know. I really hate to go back to Windows world, but I just don't know what to do. I miss just playing my games. At least I have a backup of all my data on my external hard drive, so I won't have lost anything. Oh well, a fresh install of Windows should be good for about 6 months untill I fuck it up. So, I guess all I can say is googbuy liinux, I will miss your awesome stableness.

LINUX: the debate

Well with Suse installed, I am really enjoying the stabability that it has to offer. But I am not entirely satified. For one thing, I cannot connect to a shared printer on my network. Another thing, not as big of a deal, I cannot rip a cd as an mp3 file. I hate to say this, but I might end up switching back to Windows.

LINUX PROS
+extremly stable
+open source
+free in both senses of the word
+virtualy security issues
+it's cool to be different

LINUX CONS
-not mainstream
-networking isn't the easiest
-not media oriented

WINDOWS PROS
+mainstream
+very compatible

WINDOWS CONS
-you have to re-install about every 6 months
-extremly unstable
-has huge security holes
-made by M$

I just want to find a happy medium. Maybe OS X would do the trick for me?

Apple has cut the tail on the Mighty Mouse. You can now pick up the wireless blue-tooth version for $20 more than the wired Mighty Mouse.

Pondering SUSE

I have been pondering this idea of mine to put SUSE Linux on my old Win 98 machine. I really don't feel like partitioning my hard drive and setting up a dual boot system on my XP machine, because, it's just such a hassle to set up a dual boot unless I use a third hard drive for SUSE. So, I think I will just install over my existing Windows 98 machine, that is just sitting in the corner of my room acting as a shelf collecting dust.

Digg v3; Another Review

Well, I have to say I have warmed up to Digg v3. At first I just couldn't stand it, but now with a week of using the new Digg under my belt, I have to say I do like some of the changes.

One thing that I really like is the new layout for the My Profile page. It has everything right in front of you. I also like the ability to customize what you see on the front page. Right now I have my front page set to view gaming news, and all of Tehcnology. Another added feature that is pretty cool is the friends Agreed On section. Also, the new ability to undigg stories that you have dugg is another nice feature.

However, everything good has a bad side. One thing that I don't like is the fact that there are more adds on the site. Now, if the adds were not full color like in Digg v2 I wouldn't complain much, but some of the adds are just too distracting from the actual site content. Another thing that I am not too happy about is that the ability to report a story as old news is now missing. Also, I don't like how that when you veiw a stories comments they are all smashed together, and this can be blamed on the extra adds.

Now that I have warmed up to the new version of Digg.com, I can say that I am pretty happy with the update.
